ERNSTRÖMGRUPPEN HAS SIGNED AN AGREEMENT ON THE PURCHASE OF TERMORENS AS.
Ernström group’s business area Water & Heating is growing by acquiring the Norwegian company Termorens AS, Norway’s leading expert in cleaning all types of pipe systems, legionella protection and ENØK.
The company has 5 employees and both administration and production take place in Skien. The turnover of 17 million in 2022 takes place partly in Norway, partly through exports to several countries in the world. The company has almost 30 years of history and the current management will continue to work in the company.
Ernström group has reached an agreement to buy all the shares in Termorens AS, which specializes in minimizing the occurrence of bacteria in drinking water. Termorens is the Ernström group’s second acquisition in Norway in 2022, as well as the second additional acquisition for Armaturjonsson under the Water & Warmth business area.
In drinking water installations, Termorens helps by reducing the risk of bacteria, especially legionella. The company has created its own system, advertised as Legioterm, which meets legal standards for combating legionella without the use of heavy metals or chemicals by using anodic oxidation technology. The company has also developed a biodegradable cleaning fluid that has proven to be very effective in closed heating and cooling systems. Termorens, which was founded in 1994, will continue to operate under its current management in Skien, southwest of Oslo.
The acquisition contributes to our strategic focus to create a more sustainable society through our ambition to build better companies for future generations. Through the acquisition, we are increasing our contribution to the UN’s sustainability goals on access to clean water. “The importance of ensuring optimal operation in buildings is becoming more and more crucial. Termorens has proven to have cost-effective equipment and technology that successfully reduces the risk of legionella outbreaks in drinking water. Together, we will be able to offer a broad package of water purification for all types of buildings” , says Kjell Bernt Kalland, head of the Water & Heating business area.
Co-owner and managing director Thore Andreassen comments on the acquisition and says: “My wife and I, together with our talented employees, have run the company to what it is today. It was time for us to find a partner who shares our values and has the same interest in facilitating and ensuring that it is built from as favorable a perspective as possible in terms of bacterial growth in drinking water. We are happy that we found what we were looking for in our new owner and believe that together we will develop the business further.
